A New Type of Massive Spin-one Boson: and Its Relation with Maxwell Equations

چکیده
The text book understanding of quantum field theory states that a fermion and its associated antifermion have opposite relative intrinsic parity; and that a boson and its associated antiboson carry same relative intrinsic parity. No particles that do not fall within this understanding, coupled with the fact that no quantum field theory was known to exist that contradicted this canonical wisdom, has led to almost complete neglect of the fact that long ago Wigner [1] 1 argued that space-time symmetries, and that these manifest in quantum constructs as projective representations, do allow for theories where a fermion and its associated antifermion have same relative intrinsic parity; and that a boson and its associated antiboson carry opposite relative intrinsic parity. The only scholarly footnote to the canonical wisdom in the widely read literature, see for example Refs. [7], that refers to Wigner’s observations is Appendix C of Weinberg’s latest monograph on the quantum theory of fields [8]. Recently [2], purely by accident (see Acknowledgements), in an attempt to understand an old work of Weinberg [9] and to investigate the possible

The massive Elko spinor field in the de Sitter braneworld model
The Elko spinor field is a spin 1/2 fermionic quantum field with a mass dimension introduced as a candidate of dark matter. In this work, we study the localization of Elko fields on a de Sitter thick brane constructed by a canonical or phantom scalar field. By presenting the mass-independent potentials of Kaluza-Klein (KK) modes in the corresponding Schrödinger equations, it is shown that the E...
متن کاملDynamical fermion mass generation by a strong Yukawa interaction
We consider a model with global Abelian chiral symmetry of two massless fermion fields interacting with a complex massive scalar field. We argue that the Schwinger–Dyson equations for the fermion and boson propagators admit ultraviolet-finite chiral-symmetry-breaking solutions provided the Yukawa couplings are large enough. The fermions acquire masses and the elementary excitations of the compl...

A ‘covariant’ field that transforms like a relativistic field operator is required to be a linear combination of ‘canonical’ fields that transform like annihilation and creation operators and with invariant coefficients. The Invariant Coefficient Hypothesis contends that this familiar construction by itself yields useful results. Thus, just the transformation properties are considered here, not...
متن کاملFrom Feynman Proof of Maxwell Equations to Noncommutative Quantum Mechanics
In 1990, Dyson published a proof due to Feynman of the Maxwell equations assuming only the commutation relations between position and velocity. With this minimal assumption, Feynman never supposed the existence of Hamiltonian or Lagrangian formalism. In the present communication, we review the study of a relativistic particle using “Feynman brackets.” We show that Poincaré’s magnetic angular mo...

Jan 7, 2015 In part I (pp. 1-10) of this article, I provide an analysis and overview of some notable definitions, works and thoughts concerning discrete physics (a.k.a. digital philosophy, digital physics or digital cosmology) that propose discrete, finite and deterministic characteristics for the physical world. Particular attention is given to theories which suggest cellular automata as the b...
